AI時代に必要な物理学 Physics for the Age of AI
自分で考え、自分で理解し、自分で判断できる力を身につける。 決して簡単なことではありません。しかし、その力が身につくと、自分の中に生まれた違和感や疑問を出発点に、新しい発見や、まだ誰も気づいていない価値を見いだせるようになります。 与えられた答えで思考を止めず、その正しさを自ら判断し、その先に新しい問いを生み出すこと。それこそが、人にしかできない創造であり、AI時代に最も価値のある力だと考えています。 Develop the power to think for yourself, understand for yourself, and judge for yourself. This is never easy. But once you develop that power, the discomfort and questions that arise within you become a starting point — one from which you can discover something new, or a value no one has noticed yet. Not stopping your thinking at the answer you're given, judging its correctness for yourself, and giving rise to a new question from there — that, we believe, is a creation only humans can make, and the most valuable power in the age of AI.

なぜ物理学かWhy Physics?
物理学は、自然現象という「事実」から世界を理解する学問です。誰かの結論を覚えるのではなく、事実と論理を頼りに、自分自身で理解を組み立てていきます。その過程で、一つひとつの論理を追いながら、「本当にそうなのか」を何度も問い直します。Physics is the discipline of understanding the world starting from the "facts" of natural phenomena. Rather than memorizing someone else's conclusion, you build your own understanding relying on fact and logic. Along the way, you follow each piece of logic one at a time, asking again and again, "is this really true?"
この積み重ねを通して育まれるのが、「本物の理解」です。本物の理解とは、知識を覚えることではなく、事実と論理から自分自身で世界を組み立て直せる状態を指します。What grows out of this accumulation is "real understanding." Real understanding isn't about memorizing knowledge — it's the state of being able to rebuild the world for yourself, from facts and logic.
この理解は、情報やAIの答えを鵜呑みにせず、自分で考え、自分で理解し、自分で判断する力につながります。そして、その確かな理解の先に、新しい問いが生まれます。This understanding leads to the power to think for yourself, understand for yourself, and judge for yourself, rather than simply accepting information or an AI's answer at face value. And beyond that solid understanding, new questions are born.
このように、事実と基本原理まで立ち返って考える姿勢は、「第一原理思考」とも呼ばれています。This attitude of returning all the way to facts and fundamental principles is also known as "first-principles thinking."
りんごが落ちる、光が曲がる、磁石が引き合う。物理学は、目の前で起きる事実から出発します。An apple falls. Light bends. Magnets pull. Physics starts with what actually happens in front of you.
個別の現象の奥に、時と場所を問わず成り立つ法則を探る。ここに、物理学ならではの厳密さがあります。Beneath individual cases lies a law that holds regardless of time or place. Finding it is what makes physics rigorous.
「なんとなく分かった」で止めず、腑に落ちるまで考え続ける経験を重ねるうちに、他人の結論を鵜呑みにしない姿勢が自然に身につきます。Refusing to settle for "good enough" and pushing until it truly clicks, again and again — that's what quietly trains the habit of never taking someone else's conclusion at face value.
